The main aim of moving and handling is to ensure the well-being and dignity of the person being moved, while also minimising the risk of injury to both the individual and the care provider. This includes tasks such as transferring individuals from beds to chairs, using hoists or slings to lift and move patients, and assisting with everyday activities like bathing and dressing. The overall goal is to promote independence, maintain the individual's physical function, and enhance their quality of life.
This course follows the requirements of the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (MHOR) and provides a practical guide for managing and carrying out safe and healthy manual handling. It has also been designed specifically for Care and Support Workers working in a CQC Regulated social care setting.
